Find deals on FriendSell.com

Posted by admin On November - 30 - 2009

FriendSell.com is a new site in the works where you can find good deals on items, as well as sell your own stuff. Unlink eBay, FriendSell.com is not an auction site, but more like classifieds. However, it isn’t quite your typical classifieds…it’s social. It is currently in the beta stages and is by invitation only, but it should soon be open to the masses. Once it opens up you will be allowed to list items for sell as either a private listing or public listing.

Private listings are great because you can limit your listings to people you know, so that you can help the people you know first. If no one you know needs the item you are listing, you could just as easily create a public listing for the item. Here is what FriendSell.com has to say about their service:

Private Listings:

  • Easy to Use + Flexible options, update your items anytime.
  • Limit listings to friends, family, or both.
  • No more wondering if you can trust the other party.
  • Let your friends have first dibs on your stuff!

Public listings:

  • Increase your items exposure to a wider audience.
  • Your posts remain anonymous to the public.
  • Great if you’re still building your network or are new to friendsell.
  • Mix and match your public and private posts – you’re in control!

Besides the great ways to get your items sold, you can also find some pretty awesome deals on stuff. For example, there is an 32GB iPod Touch listed for $275, brand new, while they usually go for $299.

You can go ahead and request an invitation and if they have any beta spots open, they will email you back. Happy Deal finding!

**UPDATE 11/30 9:05pm: While it is supposed to be by invitation only, we’ve found a way to register. Just head to friendsell.com/r/logo There is no guarantee if this link will stay open, but nevertheless it should be open to everyone soon anyways, but if you want a head start, click that link!

Mint.com – Online Money Management

Posted by admin On November - 19 - 2009

Have you ever wanted to manage your personal finances but didn’t want to pay the price for some expensive software? Mint.com was made just for you. Mint.com is many things….personal finance software, budget software, online money management, and a budget planner, but best of all…it’s FREE!

The best things about Mint.com:

Free Personal Finance Software

Image via Wikipedia

Easy to Set up: Unlike some other sites, Mint.com only needs you to input your information once. It takes about 5 minutes to give Mint.com access to your bank accounts, credit cards, loans, etc. And from then on, Mint.com will automatically update as things change. Now, I know what you are thinking…”Give access to my bank account, online? I don’t think so!” But that brings me to the next point…

Safe & Secure: Mint.com prides itself in having the same encryption and data security that banks use. On top of that, while Mint.com automatically updates your accounts using your log-in information, it never knows your account numbers, SSN, or other personal information. In the super rare chance that someone could get through to your Mint.com account, they still could do no harm, as there is no moving of money at all in Mint.com.

Simple Budgeting: Whatever type of life you might lead, Mint.com makes it super easy to create a budget that works for you. It calculates your average spending in all different categories (car related, groceries, entertainment, etc.) so that you can see what you typically have been spending. You can then set a budget for each category and get updates on how you are meeting that budget as each month progresses. It even shows you a predicted amount that you will save each month by sticking to your budget.

Awesome Graphs: Mint.com uses great, easy-to-read graphs to show you the big pictures, such as a pie graph showing what percentage of your money is spent where. Other graphs let you compare your spending from one month to another, or from one year to another. Mint.com also shows you in real time how your net worth is growing or shrinking.

Find Savings: You might even find that Mint.com will show you places where you could save even more money than you are! It might find a better credit card for you, or make a suggestion on a savings account that you save you more money than your current one. Word of Warning here…I’ve noticed that if you already have a great thing going, it might suggest something that is actually worse, but it’s easy to spot. Just make sure to read over everything before making any such decision.

New Features: Now Mint.com has some even newer features such as an iPhone app so you can access your account right from your phone. If you use Yahoo! a lot, you can also add Mint to Yahoo! so that you can access your information straight from your Yahoo! home page.

Sell Yourself with Ether

Posted by admin On November - 5 - 2009

EtherNo, I’m not endorsing prostitution. However, you can definitely make some money selling your expertise with Ether’s help. Ether is the key to the next step in online commerce. Using a combination of the web and the telephone, they enable you to sell your services online. Most importantly, Ether provides a phone number with a rate, that you set, for people to pay to talk to you. Your phone only rings when you’re earning money, and only during the hours you choose. Ether also provides all the online tools you need to sell your digital content – written documents, photographs, tax returns, videos, podcasts. You can now sell what you have to say – on your website, blog, business card, radio show, or wherever customers for your services may be found!

So how’s it work exactly?

1. Get your free Ether Phone Number - You will get your own number, 1-888-MY-ETHER with an 8-digit extension that is unique to YOU. Set it to forward calls to your actual phone number – cell, home, work, or any number you want. It takes 2 minutes to set up and it’s free!

2. Set your rate - How much is your time worth? $75 an hour? $15 for 15 minutes? $30 per call? Whatever you like. People will only be able to call you when they’ve prepaid your rate, just be reasonable if you want customers!

3. Take calls on your schedule – Your phone will never ring when you don’t want it to. Just set the hours when you want to take calls by adjusting the automatic schedule – currently set so you don’t get calls at night. Or, turn your Ether Phone Number on or off with the click of a mouse or by using your phone.

4. Market Yourself – Put your Ether Phone Number on your business card, website, blog or wherever people can find you. Your actual phone number is kept private. You can also get an Ether Button for your blog or website that lets customers know whether you’re available to take calls. Clicking on your button guides them through the payment process with a simple web form.

5. Phone Me The Money – Your phone only rings when people prepay your rate. Ether bills their credit or debit cards and sends you your money via direct deposit or check. Ether ’s commission is only 15%, with no monthly fees, no setup fees, and no connection fees.

You can also earn money via Email and selling digital content on the Web!
